NewEdge Wealth, a registered investment advisor firm led by a high-producing group of UBS breakaways, has lured another financial advisor from the wirehouse, according to an announcement.
Richard Ina joins NewEdge with two associates, Alison Ina and Paige Muirhead, and will set up the firm's first Nashville, Tennessee–area office, according to a NewEdge press release.
Ina has been in the financial services industry more than three decades, having started with Deloitte and Touche in Cleveland, auditing pension and endowment plans, and then moving on to Morgan Stanley's Smith Barney predecessor, NewEdge said. He had been with UBS, where he was a managing director, since 2010, according to NewEdge.
Ina caters to high-net-worth individuals, executives, business owners and entrepreneurs, the company said. His team at UBS managed $468 million in client assets as of April, according to Forbes.
"[Ina] wanted a partner to provide more freedom in choosing solutions and services for his client's wealth management needs, and NewEdge provides that flexibility," Rob Sechan, NewEdge Wealth's co-founder and chief executive officer, said in the announcement.
Ina added that he and his team were seeking "a platform with a broader scope of in-house wealth strategy, enhanced performance reporting, and a sophisticated online experience."
NewEdge Wealth, headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, said it supports more than 300 financial advisors, family offices and institutions. It manages about $5.7 billion for 7,125 accounts, according to its Form ADV last updated April 1.
